BANGOR – Robert E. Barker, 72, died May 2, 2004, at a Bangor health care center. He was born June 11, 1931, in Ludlow, the son of Charles A. and Medston V. (Victory) Barker. Robert was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving from 1952 to 1955 during the Korean War era. Surviving are five children, James Barker and his wife, Chrystal, Lewis Barker, Eddie Barker, Connie Leura and Tammy Drapeau; several grandchildren; one brother, Frank Murphy, and three sisters, Valla Hall, Elizabeth Kennedy and her husband, Joe and Charlotte Dell. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas Barker in September 2003. A graveside memorial service will be held 12 noon Saturday, May 8, 2004 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor.
