BRISTOL, Conn. – Robert E. Cyr, 77, beloved husband for 56 years of Joan M. (Soucier) Cyr, died Satur-day, May 28, 2005, at his home in Bristol. He was born in Old Town, a son of Henry and Imelda (Lecyer) Cyr. Mr. Cyr has been a resident of Bristol for the past 48 years. He was an Army veteran and had been employed by the Barrieau Moving and Storage Company, Hartford, Conn. He was a member of St. Ann’s Church, Bristol, and was a member of the Bristol Polish American Citizens Club, The Captain E. Ziikowski Post No. 2 Polish American Veterans and the Teamsters Local 671. He is survived by his wife, Joan; a son, Robert M. Cyr and his wife, Lisa, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Nancy Merriman and her husband, Winfield, of Lady Lake, Fla., Gloria Cyr of Burlington, Conn.; a brother, Victor Cyr and his wife, Judy, of Old Town; seven sisters, Rose Richardson and her husband, Clarence and Juliette Richard-son and her husband, Philip, all of Bristol, Conn., Alphena Proudman of Bangor, Theresa Day of Old Town, Thelma Keezer and her husband, Leslie, of Hermon, Joan Brown and Jeannette Soule, both of Milford; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Kenneth, Alfred, Albert and Donald. Friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town, with the Rev. Normand Richard, officiating.
