BANGOR – Robert F. Reed Sr., 73, died Aug. 11, 2006, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Enfield, the son of Floyd and Thelma (Dow) Reed. Robert served in the infantry for six years with the U.S. Army. He was employed for 17 years at Lincoln Pulp and Paper and worked construction for many years. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Shirley; his second wife, Suzanne; four brothers, Grover, Floyd “Bud”, William and David; and a sister, Marice Shorey. He is survived by eight children, Bonita Svoboda of Lincoln, Neb., Thelma Connor of Lincoln, Robert F. Reed Jr. of Chester, Ronald Reed of Waterville, Kristie Reed of Carp Lake, Mich., Claudette Philbrook of Englewood, Fla., Leon Reed of Bristol, Conn. and Jason Reed of Lincoln; a sister, Dorothy Ciarletta of Berkeley Heights, N.J.; 26 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor William Bewell officiating.
