CONNOR TOWNSHIP – Robert James McAfee Jr., 54, died unexpectedly May 21, 2006, at his residence in Connor. He was born June 12, 1951, in Skowhegan, the son of Robert and Lorayne (Morin) McAfee Sr. He attended schools in Higganum, Conn. and was a 1971 graduate of Caribou High School. Bobby was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was employed by Maine Potato Growers, Maine Bag Division for more than 19 years. As a youngster, Bobby was active in scouting. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and tend to his garden. Many will remember Bobby for his loving and gentle way with animals, and he will be sadly missed by Max and Fritz. He is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ralph and Ellie McAfee of Skowhegan and Douglas McAfee of Saco; one sister, Marguerite “Peggy” McAfee of Connor; and one niece, Lorayne McAfee Certo. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be concelebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Thanh Nguyen and Fr. Clement Thibodeau officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in Bobby’s memory may do so through Caribou Pet Rescue.
