BAR HARBOR – Robert M. Woodworth, 53, died Oct. 7, 2004, at his home in Bar Harbor. He was born Aug. 14, 1951, in Bar Harbor, the son of Herman A. and Elizabeth Ann (Failor) Woodworth. Robert was a skilled and gifted carpenter, who owned and operated the H.A. Woodworth Company in Bar Harbor for 15 years. He also was an accomplished artist who worked for several years as an editorial cartoonist for the Maine Sunday Telegram and the Bar Harbor Times. He is survived by two daughters, Caroline and Nell Woodworth, both of Bar Harbor; one brother, Michael Woodworth and wife, Tuesdi, of Bar Harbor and by many friends, especially his long time friends, M.J. McIsaac and John Smolley. Robert was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Stephen Woodworth. A celebration of Robert’s life will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church with the Rev. Dr. Sandra Reed officiating. Interment will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor. Contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to the MDI High School, Attn: Art Scholarship Fund Dept., HCR 62, Box 5, Mt. Desert, ME 04660.
