BANGOR – Robert Milliken, 90, died Oct. 5, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. He was born April 16, 1915, in Eddington, the son of Hudson and Leah (Nigh) Milliken. Robert served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award while stationed in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 178 in Bangor for many years. Robert worked most of his life at the Bangor State Hospital, retiring in 1977. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Catherine (Maloney) Milliken in 1981; two brothers, Arthur and Howard Milliken; and a sister, Ethel Hartley. He is survived by his children, William P. Milliken of Falls Church, Va., and Ann Perry of Bangor; two grandchildren, Michael Perry and Thomas Perry of Bangor; and a great-grandson, Dylan Perry. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 10, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11, with the Rev. Rudolph Leveille officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
