MATTAWAMKEAG – Robert “Red” C. Springer Sr., 63, husband of Sandra (Clark) Springer, died Oct. 9, 2005, at his home. He was born Dec. 26, 1941, in Wytopitlock, the son of Harland and Beatrice (Briggs) Springer. Red enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and Dale Jr. was his favorite driver. In addition to his wife, Sandra, he is survived by four children, Laurie Carlow of Portland, Robert Springer Jr. and Kim Springer, both of Lincoln and Earl Springer of Virginia; a sister, Patricia Fogg and a brother-in-law, Earl Fogg of Winn; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Shelly Pete; and a brother, Randy Springer. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln.
