HAMPDEN and PORTAGE -Robert Scott Cyr, 45, beloved husband of Rosanne (Bossie) Cyr, passed away unexpectedly March 31, 2006, surrounded by his loving family, at his home in Hampden. He was born March 29, 1961, in Presque Isle, the son of Gilman J. and Lucille (Bosse) Cyr. Bob was a graduate of Ashland Community High School, Class of 1980 and Northern Maine Technical College, Class of 1993. Robert was the owner and operator of R & R Trucking of Hampden and a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church of Hampden. Bob was a very capable carpenter, mechanic, truck driver and absolute jack of all trades and enjoyed helping his family and friends in any way he could. He also enjoyed Nascar racing and was an avid fan of Jeff Gordon and the No. 24 team. Bob will be remembered as a wonderful son and loving husband, father, brother and favorite uncle. Robert leaves a legacy of strong faith, hard work, a great smile and love of family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Rosanne; and his children, son, Stefan William Robert Cyr; and daughters, Jessica Ray and Katelyn Irene Cyr, all of Hampden; his mother, Lucille Cyr of Portage Lake; brothers and sisters, Debra Clayton and husband, Don, of Hampden, Daniel Cyr and wife, Monica, of Fort Kent, Rick Cyr and wife, Joyia, of Portage, Jeffrey Cyr and wife, Lisa, of Augusta and Karen Richter and husband, Philip, of Lamoine; mother-in-law, Irene C. Bossie of Wallingford, Conn.; his nieces and nephews, Amanda Frost, Sara Cyr, Jeremiah Richter, Mariechen Cyr, Gabrielle Cyr, Jayson Richter, Jennifer Richter, Megan Soucy, Brittany Clayton, Dustin Soucy, Patrick and Casey Deans, godchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and two sisters-in-law and their husbands. He was predeceased by his father, Gilman Oct. 29, 1989. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Visiting hours will also be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Portage, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt, pastor of St. Matthews Catholic Church of Hampden, celebrant. Interment later in the spring will be in Portage Municipal Cemetery. In keeping with Robert’s love of carpentry and helping others, in lieu of flowers contributions in Robert’s honor may be made to St. Matthews Catholic Church, P.O. Box 280, Hampden, ME 04444-0280 to help with the rebuilding of St. Clair’s Catholic Church in Waveland, Miss.
