WINDSOR, Conn. – Robert T. Chaffee, 64, passed on May 2, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, Conn. Following a brief struggle with cancer. He was born in Detroit, Mich. son of the late Robert E. Chaffee and the late Mabel E. (Throckmorton) VanVoorhis nee. He attended Berkshire School, Bowdion College and played hockey at both. Robert worked at The Berkshire Eagle in the mid 1960’s, Brunswick Times in the early 70’s, he was a lobbyist for Maine Forest Products Council in Augusta for several years. He started Throckmorton Farm, raising and racing harness racehorses in the early 80’s. He then moved to Connecticut in the 90’s. He was working as a bookkeeper at the time of his death. Robert is survived by daughter, Robin M. Dewkett, of Hinsdale Mass.; son, Scott M. Chaffee, of Glenburn; three grandsons, and one granddaughter. Services are not scheduled at this time.
