OLD TOWN and SARASOTA, Fla. – Robert W. Ward, 82, died July 13, 2005, while stay-ing at a nursing home in Wurtland, Ky. He was born in Bangor, Nov. 26, 1922, the son of Clinton and Celia Heald Ward. He was employed at James River Corp. for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific. He was a lifetime member of DAV and the Knights of Columbus in Old Town. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 39 years, Lorraine Gifford Ward; a brother, Joseph Clark; two sisters, Ruth Cunningham and Rose Black. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Spangler and her husband, Harry of Worthington, Ky. and Catherine St. Pierre of Tucson, Ariz.; three granddaughters, Carla Smith of Ashland, Ky., Darci Gombar of Ukiah, Calif. and Bobbi-Jean Campbell of Mosinee, Wis.; seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
