CORINNA and COLONIAL BEACH, Va. – Robert Waldo Simpson, 91, the husband of the late Helen (Cliff) Simpson, died Oct. 15, 2005, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. He was born Oct. 17, 1913, in Corinna, the son of Herbert and Edna (Lander) Simpson. He was a graduate of the University of Maine with a chemical engineer degree and had been an employee of General Electric, U.S. Rubber and the Dunlop Corporation. He had been a longtime resident of Colonial Beach, Va. He is survived by two stepchildren, Gene Cliff of Oxan Hill, Md. and Lee Ryan of California; a sister, Phyllis Springer; and a brother, Roger L. Simpson, both of Corinna; several nieces and nephews and many step-grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by a stepson, David Cliff. Cremation arrangements are by the Thompson Funeral Home, 30 St. Albans Road, Corinna. Graveside Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the Corinna Center Cemetery with the Rev. Edward Jaworski officiating.
