ORLAND – Robert Wayne Conary Sr., 73, died Feb. 19, 2006, in Ellsworth. He was born June 20, 1932, in Orland, son of Wyman and Nellie (Dunham) Conary. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 and retired from Champion Paper Company, Bucksport, after 42 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bean suppers, playing cards with family, going for rides and watching movies at the Alamo. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sally (Cunningham) Conary; brothers, Harold Conary and Earnest Conary; sister, Doris (Conary) Eastman. He is survived by mother-in-law, Edith Cunningham of Kittery; brothers, Adelbert Conary of North Carolina, Lyman Conary and his wife, Jean, Raymond Conary and his wife, Maple, Kent Conary and his wife, Donna; sister-in-law, Katherine Conary, all of Orland; two sons, Robert W. Conary Jr. and his wife, Mary Lou (Tait) Conary, of Orland and Richard S. Conary of West Hartford, Conn.; grandchildren, Christina and Jonathan Conary; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick, officiating. Visitation will be noon until time of service. A gathering of conversation and refreshment will immediately follow the service at the Orland Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Courtland Rehabilitation and Living Center, care of Administrator Alice Workman, 42 Bucksport Rd., Ellsworth, ME 04605 or to American Cancer Society New England Division, 1 Maine St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
