CALAIS – Robert William Harvest passed away Oct. 13, 2006. He was born May 8, 1920, the son of Robert Ashe Harvest and Ethel Mae (Wilkie) Harvest of Concord, Mass. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in the European Theater of Operations during World War II, under Eisenhower. He was a flying officer in the 8th and the 9th Air Force. He earned the Purple Heart, the Air Medal with Four Oak Leaf Clusters and was awarded three Battle Stars. He attended Boston College and the Insurance Institute of America. After graduation, he was employed by the Aetna Insurance Co. as their southeastern district manager for underwriting and was office manager in the Houston field office. In 1961 he went to work for the United States Treasury Department and became Internal Revenue Service agent in charge of the Boulder, Colo., offices December 1973. Mr. Harvest was predeceased by his son, Robert Bruce Harvest in 1962; and his wife, Marguerite B. (Goodwin) Harvest in 1991. He is survived by his daughter, Margo Lynn Harvest (Buffum); and two granddaughters, Alexandra Harvest Buffum and Heather Stevens, all of Colorado. He will be cremated and his ashes interred next to his wife at the family plot in Scituate, Mass.
