HARTLAND – Roberta E. Ricker, formerly of Ford Hill Road, died peacefully Sunday, June 3, 2007, surrounded by her family at Sebasticook Health Care Facility. She was born Jan. 2, 1924, in Corinna, the daughter of Erwin and Christena (Welch) Dearborn. She graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1942. She was employed by Dysarts Department Store, Pittsfield. She was a secretary at Hartland Academy and was the librarian for Nokomis Regional High School, Newport where she worked for more than 21 years, before her retirement in 1989. She was a lifelong member of Hartland Baptist Church, where she served as secretary, deaconess, superintendent and in many other positions. She was involved in many church outreach programs. She authored an extensive history of the church. Her home was always a gathering place for family and friends and many happy times were enjoyed. Big meals and family events were commonplace. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Clarke and her husband, Norman, of Pittsfield; four sons, Fred Ricker and his wife, Karla, of Hartland, Richard Ricker and his wife, Judy, of Baton Rouge, La., James Ricker of Newport and Peter Ricker of Levant, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marguerite Ricker of Colorado, Althea Emery of Bangor and Alice Kneeland of Pittsfield; brother, Everett Dearborn of Hartland, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ellery F. Ricker in 1986; and two grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at D.H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Hart-land Baptist Church, 22 Elm St., Hartland. Interment will be held after at Morses Corner Cemetery, Exeter Road, Corinna. Arrangements are entrusted to Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield.
