THOMASTON, Conn. – Rodney E. Grant, 62, of Branch Road, Thomaston, Conn., formerly of Bristol, Conn., died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Litchfield Woods Health Care Facility in Torrington, Conn. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Moriarty) Grant. Mr. Grant was born March 31, 1942, in Caribou, the son of Ward Grant of Bucksport and the late Rita (Chamberlain) Grant. He worked as an electrician by trade including a former position of plant engineer at Associated Spring Barns Group from 1976 to 1989, and also the Carpenter Construction Company of Bristol. He also returned to Maine for several years to help operate the family grocery business. Mr. Grant was currently employed at Haven Health Center/Light-house Medical of Waterbury as the assistant director of environmental services. In addition to his wife and father, he leaves a daughter, Lori Gesmondi and husband, David, of Torrington, Conn.; a stepson, Scott Sebastian and wife, Laura, of Burlington, Conn.; a stepdaughter, Jan Marie Coverty and husband, Anthony, of Bristol, Conn.; and a brother, Nick Grant of Bucksport; two granddaughters, Samantha and Sydney Sebastian; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he is predeceased by a daughter, Robin Grant; and brother, Gregory Grant. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m., directly at St. Peter Trinity Episcopal Church in Thomaston. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in the spring.
