HOLDEN and BREWER – Mary E. (Davis) Hardy passed away Jan. 26, 2005, at a Brewer healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 7, 1916, in Deer Isle, the daughter of John and Cora (McDonald) Davis. She enjoyed a full and independent life until shortly before her death and looked forward to spending her summers back on Deer Isle with her very dear friend, Jim Greenlaw. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip; and their two sons, Eugene and Richard. She will be greatly missed by her only daughter, Philmary E. Morse of Holden. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, including two very special granddaughters, Nichole Orchard of Melbourne Beach, Fla. and Ashleigh Morse of Kittery. She also looked forward to the frequent visits her granddaughter, Cynthia Bowden made to see her in the nursing home. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, including one great-grandson, Craig Orchard, who always brought a smile to her face. She is also survived by one great-great-granddaughter, Grace, whom she had the great joy of seeing before she passed away. She is also survived by one sister, Myrna Hanson of Springfield, Va.
