ASHLAND – Rodney L. Allen, 84, died Aug. 1, 2004, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. He was born Nov. 25, 1919, in Ashland, the son of Septimus and Lottie (Holmes) Allen. He was self-employed as a farmer for many years and also worked as a logger for Great Northern Paper Co. for 10 years. Rodney was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW, LeBlanc-Junkins Post 9699 of Ashland. He is survived by many cousins, including a special cousin, Frank Allen Jr., and his wife, Lucy, of Presque Isle; and special friends, Perley and Gayle Burby of Ashland. Relatives and friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Committal service and interment will be in the Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
