PRESQUE ISLE and DOVER FOXCROFT – Roger A. Jones, 55, died un-expectedly, Wed-nesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at a Boston hospital. He was born Nov. 5, 1950, in Dallas and then moved to Presque Isle with his family when he was a child. Roger was a graduate of Presque Isle High School and also served the community as a volunteer firefighter. He and his wife, Betty, enjoyed many happy times at their camp on SquaPan Lake, fishing and spending time with his family. Roger worked for the telephone company for 36 years and will be greatly missed by his co-workers. He also served his country in the Army National Guard for 20 years reaching the rank of staff sergeant. Roger will be loved and sadly missed by his wife of 35 years, Betty (Gagnon) Jones of Dover-Foxcroft; two children, Regina Jones-Morneault of Presque Isle and Michael Jones of Rockland; son-in-law, Jeffrey Morneault; daughter-in-law, Jenny Jones; three grandchildren, Sarah, Garrett and Hailey; mother, Clara Jett of Texas; two brothers, Michael Jones of Virginia and Edward Jones of Texas; three sisters, Laura McCoy, Jennifer Fisher and Clara Moore, all of Texas; seven brothers-in-law, Delbert, Albert, Allen, Ricky, Bobby, Steven and Mark; one sister-in-law, Penny; uncles, Douglas Henderson of Easton, Pat Henderson of Texas, Carlton Henderson of St. Jay, Vt., and Richard Henderson of Presque Isle; aunts, Mable Brown of Mapleton, Irene Merriman of Presque Isle, Donna Moore of Presque Isle; great-aunt, Delta Roix of Presque Isle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Larry Palmer officiating. Friends may call noon until time of service. Interment will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Grendell Cemetery in Chapman. Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
