CORINTH and WESTBROOK Wallace M. Linnell Jr., 80, the husband of Theresa (St. Amand) Linnell, died Aug. 16, 2006, at a Portland hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Colebrook, N.H., the son of Wallace and Madelyn (DeLong) Linnell Sr. He attended schools in Milan and Berlin, N.H., and then served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He attended Navy schools and then the Wentworth Institute in Boston, in basic engineering and later, diesel school in Richmond, Va. He married Theresa April 27, 1946, in Berlin, N.H., and became an employee of the U.S. Customs Service. He served on the border in the Allagash area, St. Juste de Breteniere and Calais and later moved to Portland. He retired in 1988 and moved to Corinth where he started Linnell’s Sub-Division as a building contractor. From Corinth, he moved to Westbrook in 1997. He is survived by his wife of Westbrook; four children and their families, Dr. Larry Linnell, Bonnie Dauphinee, Linda Alig and Tina Driscoll. Private funeral services will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, with the Rev. Ronald E. Libby officiating with military honors after the service at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth.
