DEER ISLE and BLUE HILL Roger B. Allen, 87, died June 10, 2008, at Island Nursing Home, Deer Isle. He was born Jan. 1, 1921, in Blue Hill, the son of Daniel and Evelyn Hutchins Allen. “Grampa” Rog loved his family very much. He enjoyed carpentry, mowing his lawn and his beloved cat, Rastus. Roger is survived by his loving children; sons, Steve Allen and his wife, Donna, and Donald Allen and his wife, Debbie, both of Blue Hill; a daughter, Cheryl McFarland and her husband, Jeff, of Hancock; grandchildren, Lucas Allen and his wife, Chrissy, Jaime Allen, Jason Allen and his wife, Christine, Nicole Allen, Laurie Klemenz and her husband, Jon, Kristen Crosthwaite and her husband, Andrew, Jen-nifer, Daniel and David McFarland; and great-grandchild, Aaliyah Klemenz. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura. A celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m. June 16 at North Sedgwick Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Crosthwaite, pastor of Faith Community Fellowship, Trenton, officiating.
