FRENCHVILLE – Roger H. Albert, 79, died Feb. 23, 2005, at a Frenchville nursing home after a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Frenchville, the son of Fortunat and Flavie (Michaud) Albert. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Germany during World War II, was a Bronze Star & Purple Heart recipient, member of the American Legion Post 145 of Frenchville, and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus, former potato farmer and paper maker for Fraser Paper for 25 years, was a town selectman for the town of Frenchville and school board member for SAD No. 33. He is survived by his wife, Jeannine (Dore) Albert of Frenchville; one son, Marc and his wife, Nicole Albert, of Edmundston, N.B.; four daughters and their husbands, Anita and Jim Lomax of Greensboro, N.C., Susan and Warren Fleckenstein of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kathleen and Jerry Beaulieu of St. David and Donna and Bobby Williamson of Scarborough; seven grandchildren, one sister, Sister Anita Albert D.W. of Ottawa, Ontario. He was predeceased by one daughter, Phyllis Snowman of Scarborough; his parents and four brothers, Jean Paul of Waterville, Valere and Adrian, both of Frenchville and Richard of Edmundston, N.B.; and one sister, Priscilla Jessop of Edmundston, N.B. Friends and relatives may call Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at the Michaud Funeral Home in Frenchville, from 8:30 a.m. until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Luce Catholic Church, with the Rev. Phil Cyr officiating. Burial in the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou.
