LINCOLN – Roger M. Schick, 81, died Nov. 17, 2006, at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Battle Creek, Mich., the son of Elmer and Pauline (Henryager) Schick. Roger worked for the Bangor Daily News for more than 30 years. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved the Boston Red Sox and the game of baseball. He played on baseball teams for the towns of Lincoln, Chester and Mattawamkeag. When Roger was healthy, he attended football games at Mattanawcook Academy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, a member of the Marine Corps League, the VFW and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Scott) Schick of Lincoln; a son, Jeff Schick of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Jarret and Stephanie Schick, both of Lincoln; and two special pets, Luke and Buffy. He was predeceased by his parents. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Lincoln Center Baptist Church, Lincoln Center, with Pastor William Bewell officiating. Interment will be at Mattawamkeag Cemetery.
