WINN – Roger M. Worster Sr., 76, went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2004, in Bangor. He was born Nov. 5, 1927, in Webster Plt., the son of Clarence and Florence (Lyons) Worster. He was an employee of the Maine Department of Transportation for 40 years, retiring in 1984. Until suffering a stroke in 2000, he enjoyed summer employment operating the grader for area contractors as well as Mt. Desert Island contractors helping to rebuild the Carriage Roads in Acadia National Park. He and his wife greatly enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling, especially to country music and bluegrass festivals. Roger was a member of the Maine State Retirement System, a charter member of the Maine State Employees Association and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He and his wife attended the Lincoln Center Baptist Church, and he proudly served his country during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Charity (Blanchard) Worster; his son, Roger, Jr.; a very special granddaughter, Amanda (Worster) Brown; a special former daughter-in-law, Michelle Fuller; his brother, Myron; a very special friend, Dorice Jordan; a special cousin, Irene; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Florence, in August, 1950; his sister, Estella, in June, 1991; and his brother, Paul, in April, 1994. There will be no visitation, only a graveside prayer at the Butterfield Cemetery in Prentiss at 1 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2004, with the Rev. Ronald Campbell officiating.
