BANGOR – Roger W. Leathers, 49, died Sept. 24, 2005, at a local hospital. He was born Sept. 21, 1956, in Bangor, the son of Seldon and Joan (Hanson) Leathers. Roger was a graduate of Central High School in Corinth and Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He enjoyed volunteering at E.M.M.C. and was a member of Brewer Calvary Baptist Church and in his early years attended Bradford Baptist Church. Roger is survived by his mother, Joan (Hanson) Leathers of Bradford; one sister, Judy Higgins of Brewer; one brother and his wife, Carl and Jane Leathers of Fairfield; four nephews, Alex and James Leathers of Fairfield, Jerry Leathers of Great Lakes, Ill., Patrick Higgins of Brewer; and several aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his father, Seldon Leathers. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, with Pastor Donald Booker of the Bradford Baptist Church and the Rev. Roger Davis of Calvary Baptist Church of Brewer, officiating. Interment will be at Williams Cemetery, Bradford. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Bradford Baptist Church immediately following the interment.
