VAN BUREN – Roland B. Durepos, 76, died April 30, 2007, at a Van Buren health care facility. He was born Dec. 1, 1930, in Van Buren, the son of Arthur and Elise (Gervais) Durepos. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 49, Van Buren and the Van Buren ATV Club. Roland was employed with his father as a heavy equipment operator and construction contractor for many years. He also worked for the Van Buren Highway Department for many years and retired from Loring Air Force Base where he worked in maintenance and snow removal. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Plourde and her husband, Charles, Lisa Deschaines and her husband, John, all of Van Buren; three sisters, Lauraina Deveau and her husband, Donald, of Bristol, Conn., Carmella Guerrette and her husband, Nelson, of Presque Isle, Sylvia Durepos of Brewer; a special friend, Dora Levesque and a special neighbor, Marie Michaud. Roland will be also be greatly missed by many lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Martin) Durepos in 1996. Relatives and friends may call 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and 1 p.m. until time of service Thursday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in Grande Riviere Cemetery.
