DIXMONT – Roland C. Harris Sr., 60, died Feb. 19, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 8, 1946, in Newport, a son of Clarence and Lizzie (Morse) Harris. He was a long haul truck driver and long haul wrecker operator for Carlen Transport, Bangor at the time of his death. Roland is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Wiswell) of Dixmont; son, Roland Harris Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Ashland; daughter, Cheryl “Missy” Whitney and husband, Tim, of Patten; grandchildren, Sara and Steven Whitney of Patten, Brittany, Briana and Brooke Harris of Ashland; a sister, Althea Schmidt of Athens, Texas; stepson, Kevin Dorr and wife, Cindy, of Meadville, Pa.; stepgrandchildren, Erica Badger of Searsport and Taylor Dorr of Meadville, Pa.; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; as well as his constant companions, Rusty the cat and Katie the dog; special friends, Pete and Elaine Johnson and Juanita Mitchell; and all his trucking family at Carlen Transport. Roland was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Donald and Gene Harris. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport. Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service. Spring burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Carmel.
