BANGOR – Roland F. “Jr.” Sincyr, 37, died unexpectedly June 26, 2005, at his home. He was born May 31, 1968, in Skowhegan, the son of Roland F. Sincyr Sr. and Jo-Ann Owen. Roland attended Beal College and was planning to attend Husson College in the fall. He was a member of the U.S. Chess Federation and he volunteered his time at Sweet’s Market, Bangor, for his good friend, Reed. He is survived by his mother, Jo-Ann Owen of Etna; a son he adored, Nicholas James Sincyr of Bangor; two sisters, Jo-Ann Stitham and her husband, Sgt. Timothy J. Stitham, and their children Pvt. Robert Stitham, Rebecca and Emily Stitham; Margaret Rackliff and her daughter, Elizabeth Rackliff. Roland will be missed by his stepfather, Judson H. Stitham of Clifton; as well as several aunts; one uncle and cousins. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005, at the North Avenue Catholic Cemetery, Skowhegan. Gifts in memory of Roland may be sent to a college fund for his son, Nicholas, care of his grandmother, Jo-Ann Owen, 92 Burke Lane, Etna, ME 04434.
