ROCKLAND – Roland G. Knapp, 76, retired U.S. Marine Corps gunnery sergeant, husband of Betty V. Knapp, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Maine Medical Center, Portland, after an extended illness. Born July 9, 1928, in Orono, he was a son of Clyde B. and Emageane Gilbert Knapp. A service in celebration of Mr. Knapp’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Littlefield Memorial Baptist Church, Waldo Avenue, Rockland. Burial will be Thursday, at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 586, Rockland, Me 04841.
