LINCOLN – Roland Hampy King, 72, died Jan. 19, 2005, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born March 9, 1932, in Soldier Pond, the son of Marcel and Victoria (Soucier) King. Hampy was a member of the American Legion. He was a lover of the outdoors. By trade he was a cobbler, as well as a jack of all trades, but worked mostly as a lumberjack, working for his very good friends Phil and Carole Andrews. He is survived by six children, James Marcel King and Diann of Lewiston, Thelma Victoria Meanor and Allen of Delanson, N.Y., Sally Ann Laviolette and Joseph of Esperance, N.Y., Jeannine Mary Becvar and Richard of Greene, Roland Joseph King of Lincoln, and Jeremy David King and Candi of Bangor; the mother of his children, Carole Ann (Whalen) King; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jo Elaine, Jason, Renee, Tonya, Crystol, Nicole, Carrie Ann, Jessica and Daniel; eight great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Edmund Daigle of Nevada; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Jane (Butterfield) King; a sister, Freda Daigle; a brother, Lawrence Bouchard; and a grandson, Aron. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Myles Cyr officiating.
