SKOWHEGAN – Roland L. Poulin, 83, of Skowhegan passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Cedar Ridge Nursing Care Center in Skowhegan. He was born June 14, 1921, in St. Cecile, Quebec, son of Edouard and Marie (St. Pierre) Poulin. He worked at a variety of jobs including lumber yard work, delivered bread and baked goods, delivered mail for the postal service in Canada, and was a lumberjack. For the last 20 years he worked for Forster Manufacturing in Stratton. Roland loved being around his grandchildren, enjoyed tinkering, walking, and visiting relatives in Canada. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Theresa Mathieu of Skowhegan; a daughter, Micheline Pinkham and husband, Ausba, of Selma, Texas; four sons, Claude Poulin, of Reidsville, Ga., Roger Poulin and Marc Poulin, both of Skowhegan, Yves Poulin and wife, Dennise, of Hudson; four sisters, Laura LaFlame, Gertrude Rodrigue, Noella Boisvert, and Fernande Duquette, all of Canada. He was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters. Visiting hours will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, with funeral services following at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame De Lourdes Church, Water St., Skowhegan with the Father Marcel Chouinard. Interment following services will be at Calvary Cemetery, Skowhegan.
