WATERVILLE – Roland P. Tew, 67, died Nov. 29, 2003, at a Waterville healthcare facility. He was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Tarboro, N.C., the son of Johnnie and Ruth (Parker) Tew. He was a graduate of Adams High School in Adams, Mass., and Nyack Missionary College in Nyack, N.Y. Roland pastored many churches throughout his ministry. His pastorates included Welchville Community Church, Thorndike Congregational, Halldale Baptist Church in Montville, Guilford Center Baptist Church, and Manchester Alliance Church in Manchester, N.H. He was also an active member of East Benton Christian Church. Roland was predeceased by his father. His survivors include his wife of 43 years, Marlene (Wiggin) Tew of Albion; his mother, Ruth Parker Elliot of Lee, Mass.; two sisters, Kitty Hastedt of Culpeper, Va., and Alice Kay Robbins of Virginia Beach, Va.; six children, John Tew of Auburn, Susan Delaney of Manchester N.H., Ronald Tew of Bel Air, Md., Christine Wood of Enfield, Grace Bowden of Stillwater, Okla., and Althea Tew of Concord, N.H.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at the East Benton Christian Church with Pastor Tim Hunt officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the East Benton Christian Church. Arrangements are under the care of Cremation Services of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, ME 04915.
