VAN BUREN – Roland R. Beaulieu, 67, died Dec. 4, 2004, at a Van Buren nursing home after a long illness. He was born June 8, 1937, in Van Buren, the son of Donat and Cecile (Doucette) Beaulieu. He was a 1956 graduate of Van Buren Boys High School and attended the University of Maine at Fort Kent. Roland was an Army veteran serving in Germany. He was a former member and past president of the Van Buren Rotary Club and a member of the Van Buren Boy Scout Troop Committee for many years and also served as the assistant scout master. He was a director and former chairman of the Acadian Heritage Land Trust to benefit the Boy Scouts and youth of Van Buren. He was also a former member of the Van Buren Fish and Game Club. Roland worked as an employment and training counselor for the Aroostook County Action Program for 25 years and also worked as an Immigration Agent at the Fort Fairfield port of entry for eight years. He is survived by his wife, Bertille “Bea” (Beaulieu) Chamberland Beaulieu of Van Buren; three sons, Thomas Beaulieu of Lagrange, Matthew Beaulieu of Van Buren, John Beaulieu and his wife, Leslie, of Van Buren; 10 stepchildren, Louise Chamberland and her husband, Claude Bolduc, of Newburgh, Jean-Paul Chamberland and his wife, Anne, of St. Agatha, Susan Johnson of Calais, William Chamberland and his companion, Cynthia Gross, of Orland, Therese Sirois and her husband, Paul, of Madawaska, Thomas Chamberland and his wife, Helen, of Hampden, Philip Chamberland and his wife, Patricia, of Crested Butte, Colo., Peter Chamberland and his wife, Cindy, of Parkland, Fla.; Patricia Michaud and her husband, Michael, of St. Agatha, Sandra Adcock and her husband, Dave, of Winston, Ga.; one grandson, Max Beaulieu of Van Buren; 22 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; four brothers, Donald Beaulieu and his wife, Johanna, of Caribou, Ralph Beaulieu and his wife, Robertine, of Elmwood, Conn., Charles Beaulieu and his wife, Joyce, of Bristol, Conn., Robert Beaulieu and his wife Kathleen of Van Buren; one sister-in-law, Terry Beaulieu of Forestville, Conn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia (Plissey) Beaulieu in 1987; one brother, Eugene Beaulieu; and one sister, Lillian Beaulieu. Relatives and friends may call at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
