EDDINGTON – Roland “Rollie” K. Rose, 74, died Nov. 25, 2005, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor, after a long illness. He was born July 18, 1931, in Bangor, the son of Harold and Evelyn (Shaw) Rose. Rollie worked for Fox & Ginn Freight for 23 years and after retiring he opened a convenience store in Eddington called The Mercantile with his partner, Arthur Curtis. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Wendy (Giles) Rose of Eddington; one son and his wife, Stephen and Kelley Giles of Bangor; one sister, Winnie Bostock; his brother-in-law, Clifford Wetmore; one granddaughter, Lindsey Giles, all of Bangor; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Wetmore; and two brothers, Edward and Donald Rose. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Eddy Cemetery, Eddington, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, pastor of the Bangor Advent Christian Church, officiating.
