BEDFORD, N.H. – Rolande (Franck) Cormier, 83, died Sept. 30, 2007, in Bedford, N.H., after a long illness. She was born March 1, 1924, in St. Agatha, the daughter of James and Alma (Gagnon) Franck. She was educated in Maine, was salutatorian of her high school and graduated from Husson College for Women, Houlton. She had lived in Van Buren, until 1960, then moved to Bedford, N.H. She was a dedicated and devoted wife and mother. She had a passion for reading. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting and traveled extensively with her husband. As a young woman, she had enjoyed hunting, fishing and canoeing. She is survived by her two sons, Stephen J. Cormier of Marco Island, Fla., and John E. Cormier of New Boston, N.H.; three daughters, Linda A. DeMaio of Sandwich, N.H., Susan M. Vaillancourt of Greenfield, N.H., and Jane M. Shea of Manchester, N.H.; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Franck Jr. and Donald Franck, both of Van Buren; three sisters, Vivian Franck of South Portland, Rochelle Chawner of Long Island, N.Y., and Joan Bauer of La Jolla, Calif., several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger G. Cormier, in 1993. Her funeral service will be private. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, N.H., at the convenience of the family.
