ST. FRANCIS – Romeo T. Pelletier, 91, died July 11, 2007, at the Cari-bou V.A. health care facility. He was born Aug. 24, 1915, in St. Francis, the son of Theophile and Mattie (LaFrance) Pelletier. Romeo was a World War II veteran, where he received the Good Conduct Medal; American Defense Service Medal; European, African, Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon; Asiatic, Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, and he was a military occupational specialist, as an automotive repair shop foreman. He was a member of the St. Francis American Legion Post No. 180 and a Life Member of the D.A.V. He is survived by two sons, Bruce Pelletier of Lewiston and James Pelletier and his wife, Frances, of Caribou; three sisters, Mary Louise Teske of Canton, Mabel Schaffer of Avon Park, Fla., and Mildred Drobot of Connecticut; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Walker) Pelletier; one brother, Henry Pelletier; and three sisters, Blanche Pelletier, Helen Porter and Cecile Griffeth. Friends may call 9 a.m. Monday until time of service at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev James Nadeau officiating. Committal services with military honors will be after at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
