BANGOR – Richard J. Hersey, 52, passed away peacefully July 8, 2007, at his residence. He was born Jan. 14, 1955, in Bar Harbor. Throughout the years, Richard worked as a cook, carpenter, painter, landscaper, and deck hand on a private yacht. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, boating and sail fishing. He is survived by his parents, Lewis R. Hersey Sr. and Martha H. Hersey of Bar Harbor; his brothers, Lewis Hersey Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Lady Lake, Fla., Robert Hersey and his wife, Carole, of Wellington Fla., William Hersey and his wife, Susan, of Bar Harbor; his sisters, Joanne Wilson of Georgetown and Trudy Curran and her husband, William, of Lamoine; 12 nieces and nephews, as well as eight great-nieces and great-nephews. His outgoing, kind, caring personality touched many lives and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. According to his wishes, a celebration of his life will be a private family service.
