MARS HILL – Rosalene E. Mullen, 85, died Feb. 2, 2005, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born April 1, 1919, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Frank and Fern (McCarty) Estabrook. Rosalene was a graduate of A.C.I. and for many years attended the United Baptist Church of Mars Hill. Her home was a home away from home for many people. In her spare time Rosalene enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by three daughters; Darleen Sturtevant of Mechanic Falls, Guelda Cote and her husband, Joey, of Portsmouth, N.H., Barbara Hanks and her husband, Guy, of Westfield; a brother, Ralph Estabrook and his wife, Helen, of Blaine; a sister, Helen Hall of Mapleton, 19 grandchildren including a special grandson, Kevin Mullen; five great-grandchildren, three great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special and loyal friend, Wilma Boyington. In addition to her parents, Rosalene was predeceased by her husband, Preston Mullen; a sister, Verna Pryor; a son-in-law, Stanley Sturtevant. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Hartley officiating. A spring interment will take place at King’s Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. Refreshments are to follow the service at the United Baptist Church in Mars Hill.
