OLD TOWN – Rosalie Bosse, 80, wife of the late Thomas E. “Buster” Bosse for 49 years, died Nov. 23, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 16, 1923, in Beveren Waas, Belgium, the daughter of Petrus and Maria (Cordemans) Verhulst. During World War II, Rosalie worked as a translator for the U.S. Government in Germany, where she met and married Tom. They moved to the United States in 1947, and built a house on Wilson Street in Old Town, where they resided their entire life together. Being from Belgium, Rosalie was an extremely hard worker. She could be seen around town helping her husband with their trucking business, when he wasn’t working at Chapman’s Machine Shop and at her son Peter’s “Interstate 95” gas station in Old Town. She had been employed at University of Maine’s Hilltop Cafeteria for more than 18 years. She and her husband were faithful volunteers at St. Joseph Parish bazaars and fundraisers. She was a member of the Old Town Senior Citizens, Pine Tree Snowmobile Club, American Legion, DAV, and VFW Ladies Auxiliaries. She is survived by her son, Peter Thomas Bosse and daughter-in-law, Helena (Rudnicki) Bosse, of Milford; grandchildren, Denise L. Madden and her husband, Michael, of Eagle, Pa., Peter T. Bosse II and Paul Jon Bosse, both of Milford; two brothers and their families, Leon Verhulst and his wife, Clementine, and Eddy Verhulst and his wife, Ingeborg; a special cousin, Solange Dekempeneer Simons, all of Belgium; a special friend, Mary Drew; and her caretaker, Terry Attean. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom, on Nov. 21, 1995; and a grandson, Jason Robert Bosse, on Nov. 9, 1990. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Normand Richard, celebrant. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Immediately following the committal services all are invited to return to the Holy Family Parish Center for a light luncheon.
