BRADLEY- Rosalie M. Brooks, 93, left this Earth to finally go home, Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007. She was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Bradley, the daughter of the late Thomas and Christina (Baker) Brooks. Rosalie worked at the Penobscot Shoe Factory all her life, until her retirement. She spent her last few years at Orono Commons and was a favorite of all the staff on the Maple Wing. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bradley. Rosalie was known to be a loving and giving aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. She was known to many as Aunt Rose, even to some that were not related. She was always there to help her relatives financially and to lend a hand with her sewing and cooking talents. She was a talented person and excelled in crocheting and knitting, and did clothing alterations as a favor for her relatives. She was a loving caregiver, nursing her two sisters through cancer until they passed away. She is survived and will be sadly missed by special nieces and nephews who cared for her in her last years, Francis Brooks, Crystal Peavey, Al Heald Jr. and Christine LeBretton; also nieces, Betty Brooks, Rose Marie Brooks, Ida (Brooks) Clark, Wendy Clark, Bridget Lolar, Jean (Dickerson) Roy, Karon Small, Lisa Bird and Shelley Dupuis, Gina Heald; nephews, Thomas Heald, Keith Heald, James Roy, Philip Roy, Troy Roy, Ryan Lolar and Beau Peavey, Kasey Brooks, Matt and Chris Clark; and several other great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves behind a special sister-in-law, Bernice Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Francis M. Brooks, Albert Brooks and Napoleon Brooks; her sisters, Delia Brooks Dickerson and Carolyn Brooks Heald. At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann’s Church, Bradley, with Deacon Fred Harrigan officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery.
