AUGUSTA – Rose H. Johnson, 88, of Westwood Road, died Oct. 11, 2005, surrounded by her family at Maine General Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Graybirch Drive, after a brief illness. She was born Sept. 27, 1917, in Augusta, the youngest child of Thomas Henry Hickey and Marguerite Agnes Buckley Hickey. Prior to her retirement, Rose was employed by New England Telephone and Telegraph Company for several years. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Augusta, a former den mother of St. Teresa’s Cub Scouts in Brewer, former member of St. Teresa’s PTA and St. Teresa’s Altar Society. On Oct. 23, 1991, Rose was predeceased by Lou, her husband and soul mate of more than 48 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marguerite, Mary and Elizabeth; and her brothers, Dan, Tom, Rod and Rick Hickey. Survivors include her four children, Pat of Peachtree City, Ga., Mike and his wife, Mary Ellen of Brewer, Rick and his wife, Jonnie, of Brewer and Rose Anne of Augusta; 11 grandchildren; eight great-gra-ndchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will be in Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
