BANGOR – Rose Sarah Kenney was born Dec. 19, 1926, and passed away June 24, 2008. She was the daughter of Michael and Mary (Lyons) Kenney, both of County Galway, Ireland. Rose was a strong, independent and loving woman. She was a competitive scrabble player and former champion candlepin bowler. Rose loved playing Beano and going to performances at Lakewood Theatre with her good friends from the Senior Citizens Club. She loved to spend time with her friends, children and grandchildren. Rose was one of triplets and was predeceased by her brothers, Wilfred and Francis. She was also predeceased by her beloved sister, Mary; brother, John; and grandson, Jackson David. She is survived by her son, David Dupray of Bar Harbor; and her daughter and son-in-law, Donna Dupray Page and Joel Page of Jeffersonville, Vt. Rose was loving, kind and generous “Grammie Rose” to her grandchildren, Elizabeth Rose Page and Aaron David Page. She will be missed greatly by her good friend, Helen MacNeil of Prospect. We love you and will miss you, Rose. A service honoring Rose’s life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where family and friends may visit 1 p.m. until the service begins. The Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor will preside. Burial will be immediately afterward at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
