MACHIAS – Roselyn McCafferty King of Machias, wife of the late Carlton King of Carroll, died in Machias on Jan. 12, 2004, at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband, Carlton, in 1982. Mrs. King and her husband, Carlton lived on the farm in Carroll from the time of their marriage in 1932, until Carlton’s death in 1982. Grammie King will be lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren, Michael King and his wife, Carla, of Lincoln, Shelley Smith and her husband, Wayne, of Prentiss, Jennifer Gordon and her husband, Shawn, of Prentiss, Devin King of Prentiss, Mark McBrine and his wife, Linda, of Bangor, Lauren Sprague and her husband, Christopher, of Marshfield, Judson McBrine and his wife, Paula, of Jonesboro, Joseph McBrine Jr. and his wife, Lori, of East Machias, and Jonathan McBrine and his wife, Becky, of East Machias. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; and 23 nieces and nephews. Roselyn graduated from Lee Normal Academy and attended Washington State Normal School, Gorham State Normal School, and the University of Maine at Orono. She was a teacher in Carroll, Prentiss, and Lincoln. Roselyn made a public profession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ when she was baptized in Lee while attending the Lee Baptist Church.
