BANGOR – Rosemary Ann Rist, 71, died peacefully Nov. 9, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Bangor, the daughter of Richard Grover Rist and Rose (Chiavelli) Rist. She graduated from Bangor High School in the class of 1950. She was a life-long communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church and a member of St. John’s Council of Catholic Women. She was co-owner of The Coffee Pot on State Street. Rosemary enjoyed serving the public in family business for 40 years. She is survived by her sisters, Robina Mahaney and Mary Lou Rist and her brother, Francis “Skip” Rist, all of Bangor; two uncles, Alfred Chiavelli and wife, Mary, of Everett, Mass., George Chiavelli of Bucksport; one aunt, Evelyn Rist of Brewer; two special cousins, Christine Regan, Rosalie White and several other cousins. She will be remembered by a life-long friend Mary Ann George. Rosemary’s family wishes to extend a special and heartfelt thanks to the Felician Sisters and staff of St. Joseph Hospital for the loving care given to Rosemary the past five years. Relatives and friends may call 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard C. McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. A reception will follow in St. John’s Parish Hall. Interment will be in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. John’s Catholic Church, St. Joseph Hospital or All Saints Catholic School.
