HAMPDEN – Rosemary Buckley Patterson, 73, beloved wife of George A. Patterson Jr., passed away Feb. 11, 2006, at her home in Hampden. She was born Dec. 14, 1932, in Clarke County, Miss., the daughter of John M. and Lora Thornton Buckley. Rosemary grew up in Mobile, Ala. where she was a graduate of Spring Hill College. She worked for the U.S. Air Force Supply System as a civil servant at Brookley Air Force Base, Mobile, Ala. Rosemary met her husband, George, in London, England while he was working there and she was visiting family. They were married Aug. 2, 1966. Rosemary and George lived and worked in Sherman for 20 years where they ran wood working businesses. Her interests were varied, with an emphasis on gardening and reading for pleasure. Rosemary was born in the red clay country of Eastern Mississippi, she found great pleasure in living her last years in Maine, about as far away from her roots as was possible. She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, George of Hampden; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann Buckley Tyson and James J. Tyson Jr. of Asheville, N.C.; two step-daughters, Lynn Flagg of Hampden and Carol Boynton and her husband, Mark, of New Haven, Conn.; six step-grandchildren, Sarah and Michael Flagg, Emily, Sam, Mary Beth and Maggie Boynton; one niece, Paige Tyson of South China; and two nephews, James J. Tyson III of Milford and Thornton Tyson of Seattle, Wash. Services and interment will be private.
