RIPLEY – Sandra A. Poulin, 62, died Feb. 11, 2006, surrounded by family at her home in Ripley, after a prolonged struggle with cancer. Sandra, a daughter of Bernard and Agnes (Merservey) Pomroy, was born and raised in Dexter, where she met and married Raymond H. Poulin Jr., who survives her after 45 years of marriage. Together Sandra and Ray raised three sons, Peter and his wife, Liz and their two daughters, Paige and Meaghan, all of Austin, Texas, David and his wife, Monica and their three children, Travis, Lillian and Olivia, all of Wayland, Mass. and Michael, his wife, Sherri and their children, Grace and Remington, all of Dover-Foxcroft. Sandra is also survived by her sisters, Jane (Pomroy) Jacobson of Westbrook and Roselle (Pomroy) McDonald of Florida; as well as her mother-in-law, Germaine (Gilbert) Poulin of Dexter. Soon after marrying, Sandra and Ray lived in Dover-Foxcroft, where they made many lifelong friendships that endure today. Sandra worked at Hibbard Nursing Home and then at Hayes Law Office as a legal secretary. In the fall of 1977, they bought land in Ripley and built their home. Back in the Dexter area, she renewed the friendships that were always such an important part of Sandra’s life. She first worked at Plummer Memorial Hospital, the same hospital in which she was born. After two years at Plummer, she joined Dexter Family Practice, as the office manager, where she was employed for 10 years. After a very brief retirement, she worked for SAD No. 46 special education, helping two Downs Syndrome students and finally, for 10 years as a secretary at the Dexter Middle School, retiring in 2004. Family and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday (closed casket), at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Father James Robichaud, officiating.
