OLD TOWN – Rosina Glenys Pomeroy, 74, died peacefully Feb. 1, 2005, at a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born June 30, 1930, in Harmony, a daughter of Theodore and Lyda Leavitt. Rosina will be remembered for her excellent ability as a seamstress and the many articles she knitted and sewed. When her children were young, her home became the gathering place for many neighborhood children. She loved animals and had many pets throughout her lifetime. She always had a positive outlook on life and this was even more exemplified when she became a breast cancer survivor. Her greatest joy in the last decade has been watching her two grandchildren grow. She is survived by three children, son, Theodore Pomeroy and his wife, Diane, of Bradley; daughters, Karen Pomeroy of Pembroke, N.H., Ann Pomeroy and her fianc?, Tom Ammerman, of Old Town; two beloved grandchildren, Tim Shorey and Cassidy Ammerman; several in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Merle, in 1993; an infant son; two sisters, Rachel Knapp and Elizabeth Colby; and a brother Melvin Leavitt. A celebration of her life will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St., with Pastor Ron Chaffee, officiating. Spring interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
