FORT FAIRFIELD – Roy D. Webb, 76, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 15, 2004, at his Fort Fairfield residence. He was born Jan. 12, 1928, at Fort Fairfield, the son of Daniel J. and Ethel M. (Lovely) Webb. He attended McIntosh Corner School, Fort Fairfield, and was married to Lois Conant on July 29, 1950. Roy began his career in farming at the age of 14, working on his father’s farm and then later established his own farm which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1994. He also owned and the Houlton Road Market for several years. Roy was known to be honest and hard working, he was practical and possessed a great deal of common sense. He was a gifted mechanic, energetic and strong. Roy would do anything for anybody and would not expect anything in return. People came to Roy for advice and guidance, he always had a special way to lift your spirits and make you laugh. He had a great sense of integrity and dearly loved children. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Louise Webb. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Webb of Fort Fairfield; two sons, Joseph Webb, Mark Webb and is companion, Marie McGillan, all of Fort Fairfield; three daughters, Gail Webb of Fort Fairfield, Lorraine “Lorrie” Webb Davenport of Presque Isle, Marilyn “Mickey” Webb of Scarborough; two brothers, Ronald Webb of Easton, Bernard Webb and his wife, Connie, of Fort Fairfield; three sisters, Jacqueline “Jackie” Tomlinson and her husband, Roy, of Fort Fairfield, Annalee Webb, Delores Tracy and her husband, Philip, all of Fort Fairfield; eight grandchildren, Renee McKenney and her husband, Jay, of Fort Fairfield, Alison Michaud of Bar Mills, Lee Ann Michaud of Fort Fairfield, Stephen Davenport of Presque Isle, Jessica and Christopher Flanagan of Scarborough, Sadie and Malcolm Webb of Fort Fairfield; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at the Celebration Center, Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004, with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Pallbearers, Christopher Flanagan, Stephen Davenport, Kenneth Tracy, Travis Webb, Bob Foss, Sonny McShea, Dallas Hanscomb and George Webb. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, immediately following the funeral service. A time of fellowship with refreshments will be held at the Celebration Center reception area immediately following the interment. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Webb to the Jefferson Cary Foundation, P.O. Box 89, Caribou, ME 04736, to be used for children’s medical needs locally.
