MEDDYBEMPS – Russell C. Archer, 80, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at Calais hospital. He was the son of Victor and Hazel (Perry) Archer. He was married to Winifred B. Reynolds for 57 years. Russell worked for the State of Maine department of transportation for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Winifred of Meddybemps; daughter, Donna Smith; and son-in-law, Vance Smith of St. Stephen, N.B; sons, Dale and Carroll Archer; granddaughter, Dawn Crittenden and husband, Brian, of Hope; and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Kelly of Machias and Lois Joyce of Cape Elizabeth and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Heather Storey of Princeton. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
