MARS HILL – Ruth A. Currier, 88, died July 20, 2006, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 4, 1917, in Westfield, the daughter of Walter B. and Mary (Gorey) Smith. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mars Hill. Mrs. Currier had been an Avon representative for 45 years. She had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. She is survived by her son Carlton Burlock and his wife, of Presque Isle; two daughters, Betty Antworth and her husband, Merle, of Westfield and Mary Tapley and her husband, Michael, of Blaine; as well as 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Louis Burlock; two brothers, Lester Smith and James Smith; and a sister, Nancy Case. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Duncan Funeral Home, Main Street, Mars Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mars Hill with the Rev. Raymond Morency celebrant. Interment will be in Pierce Cemetery, Mars Hill.
