BANGOR – Delphine M. McTigue, 86, died unexpectedly and went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 19, 2006, with her loving family by her side. She was born July 10, 1920, in Caribou, the daughter of Edward A. and Margaret M. (Labell) Herbert. Delphine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bangor. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and especially enjoyed needlepoint. She also enjoyed the outdoors and spent many years hunting and fishing with her family and late husband. Delphine was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Francis “Bud” McTigue, in 1979. She is survived by two sons, Philip H. McTigue and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Holden and Patrick J. McTigue and his wife, Cindy, of Hyannis, Mass. and Boca Raton, Fla. Delphine had four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Phil’s children, Eileen McTigue Williams and her husband, John, and their three children, John M., Brent M., and Josh M. Williams of Clifton; Deirdre McTigue Burns and her husband, Arlen, and their two children, Cassidy E. and Bryce M. Burns of East Corinth; as well as Pat’s children, Moira Bundschuh and her husband, Joe, of Groveton, N.H. and Patrick J. McTigue Jr. of Hyannis, Mass. She is also survived by four sisters and two brothers, Phyllis Brown of Woodland, Lorraine St. Peter of Caribou, Margaret Baker of Patten, Louise Pike of Wayne, Oscar Herbert of Livermore Falls and Dennis Herbert of Gettysburg, Pa. Delphine was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters, Delphis, her twin brother, Reme, Philip, Franklin, Wilford, Louis, Lillian Herbert Levasseur and Annie Herbert Libby. Funeral arrangements will be held at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. Family hours will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 20. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 21, at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bangor. Burial will be held at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery immediately after the church service. A time of fellowship with family and friends will be held at the church after the committal services.
